Features

DataLinker for InDesign CS2 for the Macintosh is for anyone who needs to connect directly to external data, such as price lists, product catalogs, customer files, research data, budgets, or annual reports. For this type of document generation, DataLinker is an indispensable tool.

The Plug-in can easily link and merge data from data sources such as spreadsheets, CSV files, SQL, and other ODBC databases. Once the data source is linked, any changes to the data can be updated automatically helping to reduce errors and save time. For flexible data management, DataLinker allows an unlimited number of data sources to be connected to an InDesign document at any given time.

Features:

• simultaneously merge multiple records into an InDesign document;

• create barcodes from database data;

• link images to image frames;

• format text as it is placed to ensure continuity within a document;

• apply object styles to images when they are linked; and

• compatible with BarcodeMaker, TableStyles, and CellStyles.

With DataLinker's powerful styling abilities, have an image, barcode, currency, or text data formatted automatically as it flows in. An optional ODBC add-on Plug-in enables the user to link to ODBC databases and view selected data with SQL queries. Automatically merge across multiple pages, and it's easy to have numerous data sources linked to one document.

For more capability, add the Plug-in for ODBC connectivity to the already powerful DataLinker Plug-in. Connect to ODBC compliant databases on Mac or Windows, link to a table of your choice, or link to a custom SQL query. DataLinker ODBC Add-on is sold separately.
