Duplica XT enables the user to select some or all attributes of characters, paragraphs, pictures, boxes, lines, and pages and apply them to other elements in the same or another document, without altering the contents of the Clipboard. Duplica XT incorporates a contextual popup menu.
When a paragraph or group of paragraphs is selected, choosing copy paragraph attributes prompts a dialog. With Duplica XT, copy and apply only the paragraph attributes needed, such as rules or tab settings.
In QuarkXPress, text that has been copied and pasted contain the attributes when pasted. Though this can be handy in certain cases, there are times the text should have the attributes already in use in the area they are pasted to. With Duplica XT, select the text for copying and choose copy un-styled text. Select paste or Command-V and the pasted text will take on the attributes of the new insertion point.
With Duplica XT, copy and paste a variety of attributes for boxes and lines, including origin, width, height, shape, points, colors, shade, text-box insets, number of columns, and more. Select a group of items and apply any combination of these attributes at once.
Duplica XT will copy and paste horizontal and vertical guides. These now become page attributes. Copy page attributes, go to other pages of the document (including master pages), and choose paste to apply the guides that were copied.
Clone any kind of box or line using Duplica XT's powerful clone feature. Cloning an item is similar to using QuarkXPress' step and repeat command, but with Duplica XT, specify several other attribute offsets that can change with each duplication, such as width, height, angle, skew, shade, and frame width. For example, clone a box increasing its frame width by one point with each duplication, resulting in cloned boxes with two-point, three-point, four-point (and so on) frame widths.
A unique Duplica XT feature will rotate and clone an item around a point within a page, in much the same way illustration applications do. Use any of the previously described incremental offsets simultaneously with each cloned item rotation.
